2. The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (founded in 1922).
3. The Faculty of Health Sciences at Klaipeda University (established in 1991).

The native language is Lithuanian. However, the new generation of doctors and nurses, as well as department heads, are proficient in English. Russian is also commonly spoken among more experienced professionals.

The state's health insurance covers all essential patient needs. The largest hospitals, which are state-owned, are located in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, and Panevezys. Most purchases of medical devices are conducted through public tenders held every one to three years. A CE certificate for medical devices must be submitted with the tenders. Local medical devices  notification is required in Lithuania (but not registration).
