The population of Estonia is 1.4 million. The medical faculty was established in 1632 at the University of Tartu. The largest hospitals are located in the capital city, Tallinn.

The Estonian language is similar to Finnish, and doctors often work in both Estonia and Finland. All medical professionals are proficient in English.

State medical insurance covers all healthcare needs of taxpayers.

Local registration of medical devices is not required; only a notification is necessary. Translations of instructions for use are required only if the medical device is intended for use by patients (non-professional users).

A CE mark is mandatory.
